Osama Youssef serves as Chief of Operational Excellence & Material at A³&Co., bringing nearly three decades of international experience across cement operations, materials, quality management, product development, and industrial performance improvement. His career spans the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, combining deep technical expertise with extensive experience in transforming plant performance, product quality, and material strategies.
At A³&Co., Osama leads and contributes to advisory and transformation projects focused on operational excellence, materials optimization, cement and clinker quality, product portfolio development, performance improvement, and decarbonization. His work supports cement producers in improving operational and quality performance while reducing production costs and the carbon intensity of their products.
A key area of Osama's expertise is the optimization of clinker, cement, and supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). He works across the complete materials and product value chain—from raw materials and raw-mix optimization through clinker quality, cement formulation, SCM utilization, and concrete performance. His experience includes developing and optimizing blended and lower-carbon cements, assessing alternative materials, improving clinker and cement performance, and aligning product portfolios with technical requirements, market needs, cost objectives, and decarbonization targets.
Osama has extensive experience in cement quality transformation and the economics of quality, helping organizations move beyond conventional quality control toward integrated, performance-driven quality management. His work includes quality-cost optimization, laboratory performance improvement, quality assurance and control systems, benchmarking, and the application of analytical and data-driven approaches to identify performance losses and value-creation opportunities.
His technical background also encompasses the design, commissioning, development, and management of laboratories for cement, clinker, concrete, raw materials, and alternative fuels. He has led laboratory standardization and capability development, supported ISO 17025 implementation, and worked extensively with advanced analytical techniques including XRF and XRD. His experience further covers quarry and raw-material quality management, alternative fuels and raw materials, plant commissioning, process optimization, and the technical development of new cement products.
Decarbonization is increasingly central to Osama's work. He contributes to A³&Co. projects addressing lower-clinker cement, increased SCM utilization, alternative materials, green cement technologies, product carbon reduction, and the integration of material and operational strategies into practical decarbonization roadmaps. His approach reflects A³&Co.®'s principle of Reducing Carbon while Reducing Costs, identifying solutions that improve environmental performance while strengthening industrial competitiveness.
Before joining A³&Co., Osama held senior technical and quality leadership roles with major cement producers, including LafargeHolcim and Yanbu Cement Company. His responsibilities covered regional laboratory management, quality systems, quarry and raw-material performance, product development, operational improvement, technical capability building, and the commissioning and optimization of industrial facilities across multiple markets.
In addition to his advisory work, Osama is an experienced industry trainer and knowledge leader. He designs and delivers specialized programs in cement quality, materials, SCMs, clinker optimization, product development, and operational excellence, translating complex technical concepts into practical approaches that can be implemented at plant level.
